Pumpkins Big, Pumpkins Small

Sizing up.
Right after a hot dog bite.
Many times through the hay maze.

On the train, through the dark tunnel, and to the Pumpkin Patch! October weather in Oregon has been beautiful--sunny and 60's/70's most days. So, we have been to 3 different patches, more to come this weekend. Ashlyn loves the animals, the pumpkins, the hay bales and mazes! Lane is a trooper for attending the family event--of course, he scales the hay piles in seconds and always enjoys the treats.

Fall is happening fast and furious: multi-colored leaves, crisp, cool mornings, and lots of football! We enjoyed the UM v. PSU football game last weekend, Lane attending his first Griz game. Lane is busy with friends living the middle school life. First progress report grades--all A's and one B. He is sure to have all A's by the end of the quarter. Fall basketball fills up our Sundays with the real season not far away. If there is free time after those obligations, he is playing the piano, riding his scooter, or reading. It's a busy life for sure!

Preschool is just as demanding for Ash. Friends a many, there's so much to do! Dancing, singing, reading, learning about letters, shapes, numbers, colors! It is sometimes hard to get her to leave daycare. When we're home, she loves to ride (sort of) her scooter, color, give treats to Harlo, "clean up" and have snacks. There's not enough time in her day to get everything done as she is always reluctant to go to bed. She'll say "poop" or "hungry" right before bedtime to deter the process a bit--something she picked up from Lane maybe?

As for Matt and I, where to begin. Our days are filled with meetings, deadlines, paperwork, and other challenges while at work. Dinner, playing, working on homework, and enjoying our evening shows--that's how we spend our evenings. Life is good.
