The Map Says...

"You tell Dora, 'Montana, Medford, Hillsboro! ...Montana, Medford, Hillsboro! ...Montana, Medford, Hillsboro!'" And, that's how you get to the last few weeks of summer break.

To visit Gigi (Great-grandma Eleanor) in Harlow and to see Bill, Jan, Paul, Lori, Kendra and Morgan was our Montana mission. Our time was wonderful! The kids having ample time to play and work on sharing skills, we ate, drank and were merry. Our time with Gigi and Jack was short but memorable. Time flies, and it seems like there's never enough of it to do all that we want to do with everyone. This time, Lane brought Jacob, so he could show off the beautiful state to him. The highlights for Jacob include swimming at the pool, climbing the "M" in Missoula, and eating ice cream at almost every stop--really.

Two weeks at home included our 5th Wedding Anniversary and a 3-on-3 basketball tournament for Lane before we continued to the 2nd stop, Medford. My 20-year high school on the agenda, we enjoyed a few days with Omi and Opa. We were able to swim, bowl, play in the park, visit Wildlife Safari, see Herman and Erica for a couple of hours, etc. The reunion allowed for me to observe that some classmates change, some stay the same. Another great trip!!

The final stop, Hillsboro. Just finishing Ashlyn's big birthday party weekend, we were blessed by the company of family and friends at the park and in our home. Of course, it had to be 98 the day of the party, which made the water at the park even that much more enjoyable. Ashlyn, although somewhat oblivious of what was really going on, splurged on about 3 cupcakes, chocolate, and other misc. unhealthy foods during her party. She does now say "Happy Birthday, Ashlyn" and when asked her age, we get "Two!" as an answer. It was a great time!!
WE DID IT!!

Two weeks of freedom until the race begins, we'll enjoy the sun, more time with friends, and time to get unfinished business completed. It's a mad dash for sure. Lane will begin middle school, and Ash will be back to daycare. As for Matt and I, we'll pretty much continue what we were doing before--educate, play and enjoy our awesome family!!
