May Mania

Happy May-ness to you all! I know, I apologize for the brief hiatus. Our move, Lane's birthday, baseball (and basketball) games, and the overall adjustment has consumed me to the fullest. The big transfer from Sherwood to Hillsboro--15 miles total--was interminable. Boxes, dirt, and more stuff. How on earth do two adults acquire so much stuff? Well, we've since condensed it down to only the necessities, donating many things to various organizations. I'm so glad to say after four weeks, we have only a few areas of the house to unpack and organize. Whew--I love progress!

What did the move mean for our family as a whole? Simplicity and convenience. Minutes away from my work, Lane's school (friends, sports, etc.), several choices of restaurants and grocery stores, a great dog park, we are already reaping the rewards. (Sure, we there's a void from the coolness found in Sherwood, but overall, the move was for the better.)

Ash has been great! She already loves her room, the stairs, the garage, the park a block away, the ULTIMATE park .5 miles away, the dog park, etc. Her newest words, "mainy" (rainy), "Oh man!," "cracker," "cookie," "Ah-Choo!" and counting everything "mun, do, dee" (one, two, three). Letters include J, P, K, N, etc.

Lane is so busy, he doesn't even know that it's May. He just survived the 12th birthday party, and I think he has sports every night of the week. He had a great birthday, and he did get a cell phone. That way, he can communicate with us often, and so far, he's been very responsible with it.

As for us, we are adjusting to life's new adventures. The move has been great, and we're meeting new neighbors and people all the time. We enjoyed a weekend with Bill and Jan, Matt's parents, and a baseball tournament. With only six weeks of school remaining, our summer is booking up pretty fast. Trips include Chicago/Michigan, Montana, and S. Oregon for my 20th class reunion.

Please keep in touch and pay us a visit at anytime! We would love to see you and catch up! :)
