DECEMBER DAYS

Christmas next week? That can't be true. Good thing Matt promptly hung the lights after Thanksgiving, the tree assembled a few weeks ago. Nonetheless, it's a wonderful season to celebrate. (Mind you, Thanksgiving spent with Beth, Terry, Grace, Uncle Dick, Aunt Jenny, and others was delightful.)

I LOVE CHRISTMAS!! The birth of Jesus Christ, our family together, a few weeks off of school, good meals, treats, drinks, games, etc. Where Lane enjoys opening a spot on his advent calendar, keeping track of the days, I enjoy opening the mail to see beautiful pictures of our loved ones. Thank you all for the great mail.

Other activities include Lane's basketball tournaments, football playoffs and bowl games (GO DUCKS AND GRIZZLIES!!) having dinners with friends, watching movies, playing in the snow, and so much more. Lane, as you know, is in the "tween" stage and is all about his friends. He has more of a social calendar than we do. When we're together, we watch movies, play games, and play basketball. Ashlyn is busy with all of the above and more: blocks, stuffed animals, her farm toys, pestering Harlo, playing on her trike and bouncy horse, etc. Her new tricks include finding her belly (and belly button) under her shirt and bending over to look through her legs. It's all very cute. But, attitude she not lacking by any means. She's independent and strong-willed to the end!!
