Almost Thanksgiving!

Of course, the fall season is on fast forward (it seems). The Portland wind and rain season has arrived, and we hope to see the sun again in 2010. With the Thanksgiving celebration next week, the weeks pass with much acceleration. That means that Ashlyn is already 15 months, Lane 139 months. :)
My, how they both are changing so much. Ashlyn had her doctor's appointment today. Where her weight has steadied somewhat at almost 31 lbs., her height is crazy--almost 35 inches! She's still in the 100th percentile for everything. Her language these days, jibberish; although, she said "one" last week, holding up her index finger to answer the question "How old are you?" We were rather impressed. It won't be too long before she'll be a little parrot, repeating everything. Her favorite things these days: Harlo, Baby Einstein videos on her portable dvd player, the computer, blowing kisses, playing in the refrigerator, food, and walking outside. She is able to do and understand so many things; we discover new things each day.
Lane, too, is growing too fast. At a monstrous 5'5", already wearing size 11 in shoes, he is all about basketball, fantasy football, reading and wrestling. It's fun just hanging out with him. As you know, he has more questions about life than I'm usually prepared to answer. Thankfully, between Matt and myself, we are able to give good answers. At school, he participates in leadership activities and is in all of the advanced classes. It's hard to believe that he'll be in junior high next year. Oh, growing up is so much fun.

Matt and I are the same. It's all about the kids these days... just the way we like it! Happy Thanksgiving!
