TIME FOR SCHOOL!

Already into my third week of work, it seems like so much has happened. First, Ashlyn has been doing so well at Kathy's house. She drinks well from the bottle--after a few hours of resistance and crying the first day--and has really adjusted. James and Minnie are her friends, but all of the kids really try to make sure she is happy all the time. And, the best part, when I walk in the door, and she greets me with the BEST smile. Oh, it's such a wonderful feeling.
At 6 months of age, she is quite the silly girl. She enjoys bouncing on the ball, playing with her toys, watching and touching the doggies, laughing when we make funny faces at her, and playing in her saucer. She is developing quite the little personality.
Lane and I get to drive to school together again. We enjoy talking and listening to music, and I get to go and visit his classroom sometimes now that I am back at work. He just finished his science project on toilet paper and which kind breaks down the quickest. (The dreaded science projects aren't so dreaded anymore because Lane is able to do much of the actual project now.) He is about to be finished with basketball and has had a great season. Baseball tryouts are right around the corner.
Matt has the wonderful job of taking Ash to Kathy's in the morning after he has gotten her up and dressed. She always wakes up with the biggest smile and helps her daddy say goodbye to the doggies before leaving. He, too, has adjusted and is so involved with all of the nightly activities around the house: dinner, dishes, baths, homework, playing, etc. He is truly the best dad/husband!
All in all, life is good. My students are wonderful and are enjoying our literature--Animal Farm for the 9th graders and Into the Wild for juniors/seniors. It feels good to be back in an educational environment working with great, intelligent, caring colleagues. Spring is right around the corner bulbs are already surfacing from the ground. Stay tuned for more postings in the future. :)
