May Madness!

This month has truly brought on a new craziness--let's finish the school year and soon! Baseball practices and games, the constant search for a new house, the eternal battle with house work and weeds in the yard, Ashlyn growing so fast--when will life slow down?
Lane just celebrated his 11th birthday at Safari Sam's which continued with a sleepover with 5 boys. They had so much fun! Even Ash was so excited--that night she wouldn't fall asleep. Lane has baseball practically every night. His team is playing in the federal league, meaning they have tough competition this year. They have been holding up, and Lane plays right field and is batting 5th in the order.
Ashlyn just completed her 9-month appointment with high numbers--literally. She's developing well, as she is 26.10 lbs. and 31.25 in. This, of course, means that she can't wear the same outfits too long before she needs new ones--darn, we have to shop often! :)
She's working hard on her crawling technique--push up with her arms and slide backwards. It's very cute how she scootches around the room. She would really rather stand. Eating is a pleasure for her, devouring every possible baby food type. She's beginning to eat finger foods more lately.
Mother's Day was absolutely delightful! We had a good breakfast together, and then watched a day full of Lane's baseball games. I didn't have to cook that day, which was wonderful.
Matt's world has been increasingly busy as the sun brings out insane middle school behaviors. He handles it all with poise and class. When he's home, he thoroughly enjoys Ash's playtime. Oh, how she lights up when he enters the room.
Other than that, we hope to find a new home within the next month or so. We want to be closer to our work and mostly Lane's activities. With summer's arrival, life will happen at a more gradual pace. For that, we are all excited.
