Now that it's July 1, I figured I should update all of my devoted readers about June. Of course, I could always say that June was SO entirely busy, which I'll have photos to prove, that I couldn't find a few minutes to write. Well, here I am. June was great! School ended on time this year despite our lost days due to inclement weather--June 12 to be precise--but more exciting than that was a lovely visit from the Ober family. They arrived in P-town on June 6 for Dean Ober's wedding, and we were able to visit with them several times over their 21-day stay. The weekend of June 12 we were also blessed to have Herman and his family here, allowing all of the cousins to be together again.
Ashlyn's first official road trip to Montana was a success! Our purpose was Great-Grandma Eleanor's 90th birthday party, which brought all of us together again. What a fabulous time, and I think Grandma was truly delighted by the event.
Now that we are back in town, Lane is is full swing with baseball and his busy life. It keeps all of us going each day. His summer will consist of more baseball, basketball (and maybe golf) camp, reading, writing a photo journal, etc. At 5' 3" and ready for the 6th grade, he will be at the top of his school. He's really looking forward to it and wants to be a positive role model for the younger students.
Speaking of busy, Ashlyn does not stop EVER! She must either be crawling, walking (with assistance) or practicing her balance. (She loves to stand and let go of whatever it is that she's holding on to in order to test her balance.) Cognitively, she has somewhat figured out her shaped blocks and which hole they fit, how to scream when she wants our attention, how to open flaps on her picture book, and I'm sure there will be even more changes by the end of the week. So, stay tuned for July's entry. (The abrupt ending is a result of Matt shaving his head in our garage-- Uh-oh, I think he may need my assistance.)
