Fitness and Financial Plan

We have some serious snow here, folks, and it is STILL snowing. As you can see from the pictures, cars are snowed in, amounting to 15 or more inches. This is more snow than I've seen fall in lower elevations in Oregon in my entire life. I don't even know when it's going to stop as forecasters have reported low temperatures and precipitation for the remainder of the week. Days worth of flights have been cancelled, including ours, with hundreds of people sleeping at the airport each night.

This is going to have a serious impact on the economy and Christmas. Stores have been closed for a few days, workers unable to traverse in these conditions. On a brighter note, we haven't been able to get out past the Sherwood Target to get our shopping done. Thus, we are able to save money this season perhaps, only buying the essential gifts and not over-buying. With that, we have included a Wii Fit into our family toy box (Lane's big Christmas gift this year), allowing us to do those activities each night: strength training, yoga, aerobics, skiing, etc.

Where the snow might never stop falling, it is not so bad, I've concluded. In the end, we will become a more physically-fit, more economically-balanced family. 2009 will start out in a good way.

(Lane has been loving it. Note the snow almost covering my wine barrel planter in the backyard and the snow closing in the cars in the pictures. Snowfall is almost as tall as the bench on our deck.)

We love your blog Pedersens!! We hear your travel has been a little less than ideal. Hope to see you while you are in Billings. The Smiths have a blog too. It will be fun to stay in touch and see how Ashlynn grows and also what Lane is doing.
