hiatus, wings, and lipstick

(Sorry for the absence the past week. Our computer had a viral infection, forcing us to reboot the entire thing. Thankfully, we backed up our files prior to the wipe out. Now we are starting fresh, and yes, I think we'll keep up the anti-virus software subscription.)
In the interim, a few changes have occurred. Ashlyn has moved from her cradle into her crib-- her wingspan long enough to reach out each side, and now she has ample room.
Halloween will be here at the end of the week, and we are so excited! Lane will be dressing as a girl (with his stepbrother, Jacob), and Ashlyn will be a monkey--go figure. Look for pictures to follow.
For Matt and I, life is good. We are well into our routine of work and baby care. It's such a beautiful time of year, leaves golden brown and falling. Football is over for Lane, basketball tryouts this weekend. Ashlyn is full of smiles and ever so curious about everything, especially the glowing, moving lights on the wall rectangle (TV). She is so much fun already. I began reading Meyer's Twilight and hope to finish in a few days. It's captivating, that's for sure.
